Dumb Call Center Client

I'm sure all of you would have heard many 'Dumb Call Center Client' jokes where the client calls because he can't figure out the solution to a trivial problem. I never thought this would happen to me but I think I'm turning into one of those dumb clients! :(

Two such recent events to corroborate this fact:

1. Saturday being an off day for me and working day for dad, I went to drop him off to his office on my bike. I came back fine and parked the bike. When I had to go to pick up dad from his office, the bike just wouldn't start! I tried everything, auto start, kick start, engaging the reserve, push start (a Pulsar 180 is really hard to push). After about 45 minutes of struggle I gave up and went to pick up dad in the car. Next day I tried the same but it just wouldn't start! Frustrated, I took the bike to the workshop, pushing it all the way. The mechanic just touched it and the bike started. The problem: While the bike was parked someone had played with the controls and had engaged the emergency engine cutoff (Pulsar owners would know about this button). Since I never use the cutoff, this possibility never occurred to me and I ended up making a fool of myself. DUMB!

2. Rakhi is a Holiday in Pune office and not in Hyderabad. Since I had joined at Hyderabad, my holiday calendar was mapped to Hyderabad. I wanted to get the calendar synchronised with the Pune holidays. I raised a request for the same which was duly addressed by the concerned team. I, however, couldn't see the change being reflected in my calendar. So I reopened the request and called up the person in charge. He simply asked me to refresh the page. I did as requested and there I saw the Pune calendar on my screen. The problem: The page on my system was being fetched from the browser cache and the refresh pulled out the new data from the server. I again ended up making a fool of myself. DUMB!
